Toilet does not hold water.

My Thetford plastic toilet does not hold water.

Is there a solution for that? If not is the Dometic 310 a direct replacement?

Thanks

In the past I believe I've had that problem with a Thetford but I never tried to fix it....they weren't worth it IMO. I have replaced 3 Thetford Aqua Magics (porcelain based) with 310s and they all fit just fine. You need to make sure you have clearance from the wall.

I replace my Aqua Magic after one camping trip with a tall Dometic 320 which has an elongated shape intended for ergonomic comfort (accommodate guys better). It does need more room so carefully check how much space you have behind your toilet to wall in particular. Install was as easy as setting a home toilet.

If you have a rubber seal on it I found sometimes the problem is the rubber seal dries out from lack of use I have found if you rub some vasalean or spray with a lubricant like we 40 that might help. Try to keep a small amount of water in the bowl and that will keep, the seal from drying out.

This solved the problem for us with a Dometic 310. The problem for us is the Arizona heat evaporating the water we leave in the bowl while it's in storage. First let me say, use a disposable plastic glove. Rub a thin layer of this on the entire surface of the curved part that opens and closes by way of the foot pedal. Then while holding the foot pedal down, rub this on the surface of the black rubber seal. Both on the top surface you can see and the under side of the seal.

Home Depot carries this brand.
