I like microbrews and love to brew my own when time allows. I really don’t care for any IPA’s; the hops make it bitter and too “fruity” for my taste. I want my beer to taste like beer, not juice. That being said, I prefer darker Ale’s over anything else.

I agree, I like quite a bit of what they put out there.

I have tried many craft beers and as someone mentioned earlier, think that many of the "craft" brewers are just trying to make a few bucks off the bandwagon who do not know how to make good beer.
I understand everyone has individual tastes and likes what they like. I have had some fine beers and love a good IPA. Balanced, not severely bitter, good hop aroma and a bit of malt flavor. Some of the Hazy-craze IPAs are good, but not true to IPA style really.
I am a homebrew hobbyist and always make an IPA (many different recipes) along with usually a stout, porter, red ale, or a good german style clean lager on brew days (2 simultaneous batches).
No sours, salty, fruit bombs, or weird adjunct beers for me.
I have a 2.5g mini keg that I take camping along with some growlers and room for some new beers to try from the areas we camp if possible. I always bring enough to share, which is part of homebrewing to me.
Here's a picture of cleaning out the cooler after a trip

I usually drink bourbon, but a cold beer after mowing the yard is good. I will guzzle a Nattie Lite but a Shiner Ruby Redbird sure refreshes and finishes clean.

Went to Stones website. They are IPA kings it seems, all they make are IPA and their description of their beers, they take pride in them being bitter.

Not much in my area from them, I will try and find the lowest IBU to try.

They even have one IPA that is 100 IBU! Yikes

For all my bourbon drinking friends........how about an Imprrial Stout running about 14 or 15 %ABV- then aged for another 30 days in you guessed it a bourbon barrel! Now that’s the kind of beer you can learn to love.

I used to get growlers from Blue&Gray before they were taken over by another brewery In Fredericksburg, Va. Several other Virginia breweries have it in fall and winter

Imperial stouts are one of my favorites. Expedition Stout from Bells is one of the best in my opinion.

The only beers I won't drink have the words "light", "ultra", or "select" in the name - not my flavor of water. And I cannot drink the spoiled beer in the clear bottles - Corona, Heineken....
IPA's can be pretty different depending on the variety of hops. If you don't like bitter stay away from Hop Stoopid from Lagunitas.
I'll be 50 in 6 months. Mathematically not a millennial. Can I still be a hipster?

I try to sample local brews while on summer race circuit. my all time favorite remains "OP" (other peoples).----PS: had another good summer season 10,740 miles. 127 days. cut a trailer tire on construction debris, TPMS alarmed and no damage to rig.----Lou----
