Jim-
I have a Lippert Electric Slideout System and in the Operation and Service Manual it states: " No grease or lubrication is necessary and in some situations may be detrimental to the environment and long term dependability of the system"
It further states that: " It is recommended that when operating in harsh environments (road salt, ice build up, etc.) the moving parts be kept clean and can be washed with mild soap and water".
I've never applied any kind of grease to any part of the slide mechanism and instead use a dry spray lubricant. As yet, I haven't had any issues with sticking or noisy slides. Using a dry spray will prevent any dirt, grit, etc., from getting "stuck" in any grease or other similar lubricant. There are a variety of dry sprays available at auto supply, RV parts and supplies or hardware stores.
