Water Heater Clicking Sound?

I'm new to the forum and have been reading a lot of good post to learn everything I can since I am in my first RV. I have a 2007 Laredo 315RL on a lake lot with a 30 amp plug in. I turned on my water heater using the electric option (I have never used the gas option) and after awhile I heard a clicking sound about every second it continued for several mintues until I turned it off. I checked and I did have hot water. I left it off for a while and then later turned it back on with no clicking sound. Later in the day the clicking sound showed back up so, I just turned it off and went on with my day. What is making this annoying clicking sound?

Could be the igniters firing - do you have the gas switch on?

Clicking sound

Good morning, the clicking sound may be coming from the propane side via the pizo igniter. Check to see if the propane switch is off. Remove the tank cover on the outside and see/listen if the it is the igniter making the sound.

You realize that the control switch for the gas is on the "tank level panel" inside the RV? If that switch is "On", the ignitor will attempt to light the gas burner whether propane is connected or not. It times out and resets itself if a flame is not detected by the thermocouple.
