Landing Gear 30 Amp Fuse
When raising the landing gear to unhook the fifth wheel hitch I have sometimes popped the 30 Amp fuse. I would like to install an Automatic 30 Amp blade fuse in place of this fuse. Can anyone recommend a brand/make that can be purchased in Canada?
Thanks in advance.

Question: Do you raise or lower landing gear until they stop?
Doing this will overload the motor and cause fuse to fry.

I just went to my local Napa store and bought an auto resetting circuit breaker that goes in place of an ATO fuse. Works flawlessly.

Put some kind of a mark(paint or bright colored tape) on the leg so that it is about one inch from hitting full retracted position and if you stop there it will solve your problem of blowing the fuse. I wouldn't wind it all the way to the top-you could possibly wreck the gears or lock up the mechanical parts.

Landing Gear Fuse
Thanks to all for the answers. Very much appreciated.
The fuse was blown each time while unhitching - by raising the trailer a little at a time to take the pressure off the hitch so the lever can be pulled. Go a little too high and the fuse pops. I am getting better at it but an automatic resetting fuse would make life easier.
Thanks again all.

MadMax, My unit would blow the fuse randomly, put in the resettable and problem went away. My theory is there was a random current spike and the resettable has a little longer lag time so doesn't blow as easy but still provides protection from a longer over current situation.

one of the quickest way to blow the landing gear fuse (at least on my rig) is to hit the switch too quickly or intermittently (bumping the gear). I pause between ON and OFF and ON now and haven't blown one since (after popping 3 or so in the first week).
