Electric Jack installation

Camping World had a great on line sale on a 3500 lb. electric tongue jack. Being tired of cranking I bought one. It arrived yesterday two days by UPS. Saved about $80 bucks installing it myself and it was a piece of cake.

But............, when starting to remove the old jack I found two of the three bolts loose and the third one barely snug. I had not noticed this while jacking the trailer. Not sure of they were poorly tightened at the factory or worked loose while traveling. Not even 4000 miles on the unit yet.

The cheap bolts were worn at the threads so I got three grade 8 bolts and replaced them. Also put lock nuts on the bottom. The bolts thread into the tongue but there was enough exposed to get the lock nuts on.

This thing works great. No more cranking for me.

One other thing. When removing the battery box cover I found the + terminal starting to corrode. Cleaned it and sprayed protectant on it.
