I sure did get one thanks. My brother in law had one that I’m using till I order mine. I’ll put it photo of kind I’m using right now. . Yes I reassembled all wires made sure tight and undid one of the screws and bolted down the green ground. The copper wire wasn’t connected to anything either so I connected and tightened to plug. We do have a larger copper wire going from breaker box to a copper rod in the ground.

And after hooking it all back up power in camper seems to be all working good.

I am not an electrician but, I believe that the green wire attached to the box should be tied to the bare ground wire from the feed and of course to the outlet ground. The way it was wired if the loose wire touched the box and you touched the box you could have been shocked.

I'm glad you found the problem and got it going. Be sure that the outlet box (looks to be metal) is grounded to the earth ground. Sounds like you had a loose hot wire floating around inside that box and if it contacts that metal box you want it going to that ground rod and not you when you touch the box.
