paint frame holes?

Since I'm starting a new project to drill holes through my frame...I did a search and couldn't find anything.

I'll be drilling through the frame for an undermount tire carrier...any recommendation on 'prepping the holes' prior/after attaching the carrier?

I additionally thought of this while adding my inverter ground to the the existing grounding bolt. As it is just a self tapping screw through the frame with lots of 'exposed metal' that would eventually rust/corrode

IMO any corrosion prevention is a good thing. Spray painting the nuts/bolts and or self tapping screws after installing would not hurt.

If your using thru bolts then paint the hole with a good quality paint and allow to thoroughly dry before using. If using a self tapping screw then I'd paint it as well. For frame mounted grounds the best thing I've found is to remove them every year or two (depending on environment), cleaning everything and reinstalling with a new self tapping screw.
