Slide out supports yes or no?

I have 2018 cougar 25 res . Which has a cable drive slide out. I notice when I’m sitting in the reclining loveset and someone is moving around in the bedroom I feel bouncing. I have auto leveling and do that with the slides in . Should I doing the leveling with the slides out and would a slide supports help or hurt?

Do not use any slide out supports. They were good for the old manual “pull outs”, but slides that have any type of mechanism to move them doesn’t need them. In the unfortunate event of settling the suppprt could damage the slide.

Level before you put the slides out. Also, I’m not a fan of slide out supports. I feel they can put pressure on the slides in areas that shouldn’t have pressure on them.

No, they are not intended to have supports and a bit of bouncing is what makes camping in a recliner in your trailer enjoyable.

I would not use slide supports - it takes care of itself.

As far as "bouncing" is concerned, barring a trailer being on blocks I don't know that I've been in one that you can't feel movement at some point or another - they just do.

If you feel that there's too much coming from the upstairs bedroom you might try one of the little tripod pin box supports. There are mixed views on them. I have one and bought it because I had a washer and dryer installed in the bedroom. I was/am concerned about the weight in the nose, movement from them and the possibility of cracking the frame somewhere. Does it work? We believe so....sort of. It does not stop all the slight wiggling you get from the bedroom but it did reduce it AND I feel better thinking I've got something under there helping support all that weight.

You could also try using Xchocks between the tires. I tried them a couple of times after we got the self leveling system and they may have helped but not enough to overcome the irritation of putting them on/taking them off so I don't use them.

As far as leveling; level with the slides in then deploy.

Think past the "no movement mantra" and think about how a "cable slide" is mounted in an RV....

It's a box that's held in place by 4 cables. Essentially, it's a "swing" that moves in and out as the cables extend/retract.

If you think of it as sitting in a swing that's hanging from a tree limb, if someone bounces on the limb, you're going to feel the bounce in the seat of the swing.

It's the same concept with a "cable slide hanging from 4 cables attached to the wall of the trailer. If someone "bounces on the other end of the "RV limb" you're going to feel that bounce in your "recliner seat swing".....

Perfectly normal. And, if you try to stabilize it with slide supports, you risk a lot more than just "some damage if a tire leaks down"... Every one of those "bounces on the other end of the trailer" is pulling on the cables and the pulleys mounted in that "thin wall aluminum tubing" that makes up the frame of your trailer.... Pull too much on those pulleys and you'll find the slide "laying on the trailer floor instead of swinging with the movement at the other end of the trailer"....

In other words, feeling someone jumping or walking is normal and trying to stabilize it may very well damage your slide.
