Volt meter.

I guess with the newer units they don't install the old 12 volt (cigarette lighter) style port anymore, at least in our 2021 Outback. I miss the little volt meter that I could plug into it to help me keep an eye on the health of the batteries. Can anyone recommend a decent meter that's fairly reliable that I can tap into a 12 volt source with? And also, if there is such a thing as a plug & play version that plugs directly into a USB outlet? Thank you.

I have a bunch of Harbor Freight multimeters. They do continuity checks, of course and both AC and DC in appropriate ranges and cost less than $10 if I recall.

USB provides 5 vdc that won't help. There are many dc volt meters available but all would require acessing the 12 vdc wires.

I mounted one of these to my converter front cover. It even has a switch you can turn it all off if you don't want the blue light or USB charger energized.
