Newb....

Hello!

Just wanted to check in. This weekend we pick up our new (to us) 2011 Cougar 322QBS trailer.

This is our first owned travel trailer although We are no strangers to towing etc. Will be using a 2015 Ram 2500 (cummins) as the TV.

Looking forward to a lot of small trips we are planning over the next couple of months (in between car events, we also have a 92 Mustang Coupe).

In March we will tow from SW MO to Moab UT and stay a week with family members.

I'll get some pics of it all when we pick it up Saturday.

Yes...welcome indeed! When in Moab, take the time to visit Zion National Park.

We will have to check it out. We will be out there during spring break while there are a lot of off road jeep events during that week to watch as well. (I'm a car/truck/jeep nut, basically anything with wheels you can do something crazy in).

I'm excited and nervous about the long haul. Not because I've never pulled a trailer but because we have a 6 year old and an 8 month old (will be 14 months when we leave). The baby dislikes car rides. She doesn't seem to mind riding in the rougher riding 2500 when compared to the f150 we got rid of our the wives traverse. (both much smoother).

We get to take our maiden voyage this weekend. Pick up the trailer this Sat Morning (after a lengthy PDI) and will go roughly 80 miles to one of the close by lakes to a state park with a Lowes and Walmart within 10 minutes for any repairs or forgotten items.

Thanks again for the welcome. I've been lurking on these forums for a few months and just activated my sign on to post.

Well we made it. We have a list of items we forgot. Condiments is the top of that list. Had a nice angled spot to back in with a tight access road. Sadly took three tries. My set up was bad and once I figured out the turning angles with the fifth wheel I was good. This is my first fifth wheel and back is as you know easier but different lol

On the way down we encountered and closed bridge on a state highway. That was a fun backing adventure to the next farm road to flip a u turn.

I had to fix the ac ducts already. The main vent shut off wouldn't close and itilize the trailer ducts. I took it apart and cleaned the sticky crap off of it and now the trailer is ice cold. I foresee the heater coming on in the morning.

The trailer pulled well. I've learned the dh needs some navigation lessons and to not trust nor listen to the gps when pulling a 33 ft rv. She will get there.
