RV Queen mattress

Have a slide that requires a RV Queen for the bed. Time to replace it, we’ve been using a 4” foam topper and it’s worked well but are looking for a replacement. Because of the slide running the mattress into the built in dresser we can’t go residential, but would love a standard queen. I’ve seen some of those boxed mattresses that come in a roll. Ya think that would squeeze up with the slide?
Thanks.

I have never had one but would expect it to compress. When we had a cougar that needed a bed like that we ordered one and got a residential mattress that was made shorter. That was the best bed we ever had in a camper.

We replaced our "RV King" with a standard Queen from Ikea. Check Ikea out... it has been fantastic! They come vacuum sealed in a roll and easy to get in the door.

Replaced our RV queen with a residential queen 5 yrs ago. It hangs over the platform a bit, but My feet are actually on the bed now instead of hanging off.

We measured with the slide in and we could fit a standard Queen in the space.

Did think that but the built in dresser won’t let us. It’s definitely in the way.

Don't get discouraged. You shouldn't have to mention the dresser interference more than once. Can't comment on the rolled up mattress you asked about but if it rolled up, it could probably be scruched without hurting anything. You might be better off to just buy an RV queen mattress as the rolled up / foam mattress will hang over and be awkward on end with no support. We have a 14 thick full queen on a platform designed for an RV queen and I had to add about a foot extension to the end as the mattress sort of slopped at the end where it hang over.

That would be a problem having the end of the mattress flopping on the end. Plus, the loss of room at the foot of the bed.

We replaced with a Tulo, 10 inch foam mattress. They run a little firmer than their designation. So our medium is a little more firm than "medium."

Re pushing into the dresser. That happened on our 24RBSWE. That king bed was in a slide. But oddly enough, only one side of the foot of the bed. In fact the OSB mattress platform top actually rubbed the dresser. I cut a small triangle wedge off of the OSB, and did the same to the foam mattress. Unzip the mattress cover, pull it back. Use an electric turkey carving knife. It works perfect for that.

Well part of this mattress fit is the measurements don't really need to add up.
Our 5er is 96" wide to the outside of the walls.
Walls are 1-1/2" thick.
Dresser is 15" deep
Our residential Queen is 80" long.
I have to pieces of 2X4 flat at the head of the bed to prevent condensation in winter.
So our math is 96 -3 for the walls is 93"

93 - 80= 13" (Mattress removed from available interior width.)

13 - 1.5 = 11.5" (the 2X4 spacers at head of bed.)

So at this point I have 11.5" of space for our 15" deep dresser,

so we have about 3.5" of mattress crush when the slide is in, the slide seals tight to the exterior of the wall.
The mattress likely is pushed to the wall at the head around the 2X4's, leaving 2" of crush at the foot into the dresser.

Just my facts, I am 6' so I really like the extra 6" of length.

You could try one of these
https://www.lci1.com/bed-tilt-system
Works with slide in or out. Probably $$$
Good luck

Maybe a pricier option, but you can have a mattress made to your custom size and thickness from places like Tochta. They come vacuum rolled and easy to install. First thing we did on our rig was replace the stock pad with a Tochta, and we love it. I can sleep on pretty much anything (even hanging off the end of it, since I was 17), but the DW is picky and this gets her seal of approval.

What are the current measurements of your current mattress?
