Water bay modifications

The water bay mod is easy and pretty cheap. A $3 plunger from the store and a few water line connectors is all that is needed. I flipped the plunger over and used a 1" spade bit to drill out the center of the plunger for the hose to slip through. Then for my purposes I drilled a second on for a 3/4" pvc fitting for my Starlink cable to slide through.

Then the plunger fits up into the usual screw in fitting in the bottom of the water bay.

I use a 3' piece of water hose to connect to the water inlet in the water bay. This way I don't have to remove the hose every time I disconnect. A quick connect at the end allows easy on and off of the water hose that goes to the water faucet. The water bay was modded to attach a water "Y" to the existing city water inlet and black flush inlet. A back flow preventer was put at the inlet to the black flush to prevent any possibility of back flow into the fresh water system. Then I can switch from city water to tank flush with a turn of the valve on the water "Y".

The in line pressure regulator is set at 60 psi. Most RV water systems are tested to 100 psi. A 3/4" plug is available to block the cable entrance if the Starlink system isn't needed. The hardest part was just figuring out what fittings would be required to hook the system together. Fortunately I always have an assortment of water fittings on board. All together I have less than $20 in the mod. I did reuse a water pressure regulator from my previous rig.

nice looking work …i personally do not like the black tank mod though..i have a freshwater hose and a black tankhose…and the twain shall never meet”

i don’t trust the backflow preventer at such short distances of fittings and higher water pressures …i prefer to leave the black tank hose disconnected from the fitting and only used when i’m flushing

If you are taking pics with an iPhone either take the pic holding the phone in 'landscape' mode or do the following if you've taken the pick holding the phone in 'portrait' mode:

Go to the pic and press EDIT
From bottom right of display press the CROP tool (should be last one)
From top left of display press the ROTATE tool, turn pic 90*
Press DONE to save

Return to the pic and perform the steps above again but this time rotating the pic back to its original position.

Upload pic and (fingers crossed) it will appear right side up.

I almost always take the pics in landscape mode with the shutter function on the right. For most sites that is the method of correct orientation. Using a fairly new Android phone, Samsung. As usual in these instances, all photos display correctly when downloaded onto my computer and gmail account.
