Tires mis-match.

After one of the tires on my travel trailer tire had a deadly flat, I ended up with 3 radial tires and one regular.

Does that cause a safety problem?

Thanks

It’s not a big of a concern as it is on a car where different grip levels can cause one end or the other to lose traction. Since you don’t have a steer axle, the trailer pretty much will follow where it’s pulled. I still wouldn’t leave them like that any longer than needed, but I don’t like mismatched tires on anything.

The thing that would concern me is if one tire blew how long before the other 3 go??
If these tires are the originals or other types of "Cheap China Bombs", then 4 new tires are the best way to go. I also bought a TPMS (TST 507) when we upgraded our original tires to a set of Carlisle HDs. Nothing makes the trip more pleasant than Peace of Mind.

I don't know that running mismatched tires is a safety problem per se but it could be depending on why you are running mismatched tires. You don't give any information about the tires, age, brand or anything else so guessing if you have a safety problem is next to impossible.

I can only echo the thoughts in the previous posts; if they were OE tires or considered "china bombs" they all need to come off because that very well may be your warning that the rest are going to pop soon. I'm also one that does not replace one tire at a time and go with an entire set (including spare). Without knowing any more about the tires than what you posted I would consider that odd tire as a temporary step to get me to a shop for a set of new tires and that's about it.

Depending on the age and mileage of the Carlisles at the very least I would buy another Carlisle and put that Towmax back at spare. If you could I would just get rid of the Towmax for another Carlisle. The nickname for Towmax is "blowmax".

According to e-Trailer: NO https://www.etrailer.com/question-45847.html

According to Motor Trend: NO https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/16...trailer-tires/

According to Tire Buyers: NO https://www.tirebuyer.com/education/...ires%27%20life.

I've always been told:
1. NEVER mix types of tires on any axle.
2. ALWAYS replace all tires on the same side after a blowout.
3. ALWAYS use the same size/type of tire on all axles.
4. ALWAYS replace all tires at least every 5 years.
5. ALWAYS inflate ST tires to the trailer manufacturer's recommendation.
6. NEVER deflate ST tires for a "smoother ride".

He said the three Carlisle Radial Trail HD tires were new. I ran over a surveyor stake (rebar) and made a BIG hole in one of my tires and just replaced it with another Carlisle. I would get rid of the Towmax asap.

Sounds like the spare was never mounted; would like get rid of that if it isn't a Carlisle.

From his pic and signature looks like a fiver pulled by an F150 so you're already testing fate. I wouldn't add to the odds of having trouble by trusting a Towmax tire. JMHO, YMMV

Are you saying the 4th tire is a bias ply tire? If so, it's never recommended to use tires of a different design unless it's in temp use as a spare.
