Rest area hook up

Just seen this on another site. So just putting it out for anyone who may not know about it. On Ohio turn pike they now have 8 rest area sites that have hook up for campers/rv’s. https://www.ohioturnpike.org/travele...6ld21dJVULSY-I

The post title “Rest Area Hookup” could get you in trouble….LOL

That being said, I have seen those dedicated areas in Ohio for a few years now. Seems better than a Walmart parking lot, and I have never seen more than 1 or 2 spots occupied any time we have passed through.

We've stopped at a couple of them. It's not bad. The spots aren't very long so I had to disconnect. There was enough room beside the trailer for the truck though.

Kind of confused about one of the rules:

"All vehicles must be parked head-in or head-out, parking in any other direction is prohibited."

How many other directions in an rv slip could there be? Sideways?

I think any more everything has to be spelled out because there are so many either clueless or inconsiderate people. Just stayed several days in a hotel in another state, on two occasions people came in pulling a large trailer with their truck. On both occasions (head in or head out) they pulled right square into the parking spaces crossing them - took up 10 spaces just sitting and not what would be required to get in/out. Now this was across prime parking spaces requiring others to park "out there"....and there was a large parking lot for larger vehicles just across the street!! Yep, I figure these days you can't put enough directions out there for some people.

Danny, I think it is the "me" syndrome. For so many people now it is all about "me". Period.
Too bad.

I've found it's often difficult to articulate "use common sense". Those without it often require "in-depth" explanations to explain why NOT doing what they desire just doesn'tmake"common sense".

While this world has come to where you have to explain in detail. So many out there with no common sense. Reason for having to put be careful may cause burns if spilled on hot coffee cups. Or do not drink on side of washing powder. Lol

The Ohio service plaza also has a dump station and a faucet for potable water too.

Saw this and wanted to add they don’t charge for usage of either. I specifically asked in a plaza one time and was told as long as I paid the toll fee I could use it, even if just passing through.

"concrete Cinderellas"? That's a new one. I always heard them referred to as "Lot Lizards".

Some of my favorites are the TV ads hawking medicines - - and at the end of the ad there is a disclaimer 'do not take this medicine if you are allergic to it'. Makes me laugh every time. What kind of idiot would take something they are allergic to? Lot's of idiots, I guess.

To take your logic just one step further:

What kind of idiot would watch a TV commercial and go "insist their doctor write a prescription for something they saw on TV" ???

My guess is that the drug companies are using their advertising budget to offset their tax liability more than "informing patients on which drugs are best for their ailments .... JMHO

To extend that logic, if you've never taken that drug, how could you possibly know if you are allergic to it? Reminds me of the television commercials selling televisions. "The best picture in the industry", etc. I laugh at the circular logic. If I can see how nice the the picture looks than I don't need the TV they are trying to sell. If I can't see how nice it looks then how do I know they aren't lying to me?
