Air chucks closed air flow or open flow??

AstroAI Air Chuck, Heavy Duty Closed Flow Lock On Tire Chuck with Clip for Inflator Gauge Compressor Accessories, just wondering it anyone has used these to top off or fill a 110psi tire.
Is the closed air better for trailer tire refills for is the open flow better?

There's a reason Keystone posts the warning "Do not use the black tank flush system with the dump valve in the closed position"...

They post that because it's easy to be forgetful... Close the valve, plan on running the flush system for 6 minutes, set the stopwatch to make sure, then get busy with a dog that broke its leash or a kid that falls off their bike or even a DW/DH that yells for help on the other side of the trailer.... Next thing you know, there's an "OH SH** MOMENT" and you suddenly remember that running flush system about the same time that brown stuff rolls out the bathroom door....

It is potentially the same with a lock on air chuck... If you've ever seen a 175 PSI compressor air up a 80PSI maximum pressure tire with a lock on chuck and had the tire valve suddenly pop and the tire "whoosh away for several minutes" or walked back to the tire to realize there's 160PSI in that 80PSI tire......

There's a "useful purpose" for lock on tire chucks just as there's a useful purpose for closing the dump valve when filling the black tank with "sprayed water".... The "trick" is to know when to use them, know when to walk away and NEVER count your luck to keep you safe if you can't tell the difference..... <sung with my best Kenny Rogers voice> ...

I use a screw on air chuck. I also use a mini air regulator and a ball valve in the line directly behind it. I set my regulator to 80 psi, screw on the air chuck then open the valve. Super easy, and I don't have to keep checking and adjusting until the proper inflation is achived.

I'm curios how much 'time' you plan on saving with this gizmo. How low do your tires get that you would want to walk away and do something else while the tire filled?
This would not be a good idea at our house.

A closed flow air chuck only allows air to flow when connected to a valve stem, where an open flow air chuck depends on a separate valve to control the air flow, such as when a tire installer is airing up a new tire while mounted on a tire installing machine and they have a pedal that controls the air. You probably should be looking for a closed flow air chuck.
