Stabilizer bars

Maybe a silly question but when you are ready to back into your campsite or storage unit, should you take the stabilizer bars off first?

It would help if you listed what hitch and bars you have.

On our previous travel trailer, we were using the Equal-i-zer 4-point Sway Control Hitch and didn't need to remove the bars before backing up.
Other brands may or may not recommend removing the bars.

Yep. We have an E4 and can reverse with the bars in place. Previously I had the harbor freight WDH plus 2 harbor freight sway bars. Those say you have to remove them before backing up. I didn't realize that and backed up with them at least a dozen times. Oops. Thankfully I didn't damage anything. E4 is a much better product, but the answer to your question depends on your brand/model.
