Pecan Logs. What memories.
That Bucees in Crossville is not too far off.

Outside....it was easy to get to the diesel pumps and easy to get in and out of the lot. Good stop for fuel.

Inside....there were people waiting in line for EVERYTHING! I hit the men's room and left.

I will stop again for fuel!

Watch the place when you are in there. From my experiences there are some slammed exits/cashiers and others that have only a few.

If I have to stay in a motel room, I stay there to sleep, and shower.... don't need anything more than that.

When I need an experience I'll go to an all inclusive Caribbean resort 😁

There's more than one reason they're known as the Disneyland of truck stops. :-)

A Buc-ees isn't a truck stop and can't be compared to one; apples to oranges, a 5 star all inclusive resort to a tent etc. I've never seen semis fueling up at Bucees and don't know if they're even allowed. The interior, cleanliness, bathrooms etc. can't begin to be compared to a truck stop either. I've never seen a guy with his shirt off, backpack on the ground trying to shave and take a bath in a sink there....

I was in the Buc-ees in Terrell, TX when I struck up a conversation with a younger couple with a small child; pushing a basket, items in the basket including Bucees tshirts and other stuff. Asked what brought them there and where they were headed - they were from Longview, TX about 1 1/2 hrs away (as I recall). Their weekend destination was Bucees. The comparison to Disneyland in that regard would be accurate and I've never heard of anyone making a weekend trip "just" to go to a truck stop, that's usually a stop borne of necessity.

Other than their fuel prices the rest of their stuff is price comparable to Disneyland.
In our travels if there was a Bucees ahead somewhere that was our destination for fuel & a walk around the store to stretch a bit, very rarely bought anything due to their Disneyland like prices.

Every Buc-ee's that we've been to has that same sign at every entrance... The only 18 wheelers that I've ever seen at any of them is either a delivery truck at the rear entrance or a fuel truck dropping gas/diesel into the tanks. Otherwise, the biggest is a motorhome or an occasional "Freightliner with a fifth wheel"....

Went to our first Buc-cees a week or so when we were in Alabama. We were in my truck only, but it looked like there was plenty of space at the pumps for a TV and TT. I really enjoyed the store itself, but man there were a lot of people running through the parking lot, regular vehicles that didn't know where to go, etc. I could have easily seen myself getting frustrated if trying to fill up while towing the TT. Hopefully they aren't all like that.

Was looking for a t-shirt saying "Grab Life By The Beaver Nuggets" but apparently they don't make them. If it's on a billboard advertising the store, seems like it would be put on a t-shirt. Alas.

I have only been in two Buc-ee stores. The one in Eagle Lake on Alt Hwy 90 which isn't really much more than a big convenience store and one on IH35 somewhere up near Waco as I recall. I stopped at the Eagle Lake place on my way back and forth to Houston when I was doing medical stuff and staying in Houston during the week. Didn't think much about it. I stopped in the one on IH35 because I had never seen any gas station of comparable size. I hit the rest room and bought my wife a huge red tee shirt to wear as a night gown. Haven't seen it since I gave it to her. Guess she didn't like the look of the rodent on it.

I need to have a shirt with that on it!

According to my son, the above is a magic phrase that works on Twitter. Post an image (or respond to one) with this phrase, and within 20 minutes, a Chinese bot will have such a shirt made up and offer it to you for sale.

He likes to play tricks on the bot. Somebody posted a derogatory photo of Winnie The Pooh in Tien-an-men Square, and my son responded with, "I need to have a shirt with that on it!" Someone may have gotten executed over that.

Oh that's hilarious. My nephew promised he'd have one created for me for my July bday. He's 16, so it is plausible.

My wife bought a fudge assortment and I bought strawberry jam. Almost (key word) as good as mama's. We will be returning (and they need to make my t-shirt just in case my nephew doesn't come through)

If they have something in the store you want, don't delay, buy it ASAP.
We saw a little picnic set up that would have been perfect for the grand kids. A tent/beach shelter thing with Buc-ee on it with a small table and 4 chairs. We decided to get it on the way back home. Nope 2 weeks later all sold out.
They usually have some good looking camo in late summer.
I used to stop at the store in Luling on my work trips to Laredo. They usually had fire pits, smokers and the like out on the sidewalk for sale. There was a great looking smoker I decided to buy. Of course I was in a company rent car; Chevy Impala, etc. No place to carry a smoker. Next trip I'll rent a pickup and buy that smoker. Nope, all gone. I ended up buying a Lifetime Smoker from Uvalde Texas. "I bought mine when I wuz young".
I had a vendor company owner that knew Buc-ees owner and he's supposedly a regular guy like us.
Or me anyway...
We always have to buy an assortment of kolaches.
I always look for those Michigan pasties. Not yet.
