1st RV owner Keystone 1750 RD
Hi folks.
Well, I just retired (64 yrs old) and purchased my 1st RV (1750 RD) a few days ago. I started camping about a year ago (using only a tent) and wanted to step up to a light weight trailer. I drive a 2021 Honda Ridgeline so the maximum I can tow is 5000lbs. This trailer fit the bill and the Ridgeline tows it without a problem. I plan to camp once a month ( 3-5 days). I have towed 22' - 25' boats when I was younger but have never towed a trailer. My trip home from Camp World (about 1.5 hrs drive) went great with no issues. Looking forward to learning more about Keystone.

Congrats the 1750 is a nice little trailer. Love all the windows. Definitely a step up from a tent. Enjoy.

You state the tow capacity, but have you checked the payload on the driver's door jamb? I'd doubt that Honda has much over a 1000lbs. The payload number is of much more concern than the max tow rating.
Your tongue weight will be nearing 600lbs + the weight of the WDH (approx. 100lbs) + you & all your stuff in the Honda subtracted from that payload. Your Honda can "tow/pull" much weight than it has the ability to "carry"!
The other issue is the use of a WDH on a unibody vehicle. Might want to read through your Honda owners manual for that information.
Not trying to dampen your enthusiasm, just want you to be safe!

Honda does not recommend use of a WDH on the original/1st gen Ridgeline. You have the new/2nd gen, Honda does not make a recommendation against use on them. You can use a WDH to remove some weight from the tongue and provide some sway control. The fresh water tank is under the bed and will add some weight to the hitch. If you don’t dry camp and fill the fresh water tank, that’ll help, but with only a 27 gal tank, it’s not a huge difference. Keep your air pressure up to max on your rear tires and enjoy!!!

Thanks for your advice travelin texans,
My Honda Ridgelines Payload capacity is 1477 Lbs (according to the sticker on my truck). Camp world installed stabilizer bars, break booster and a few other options. I plan to camp once a month with just my wife so only 2 passengers at a time. Right now its a learning experience so I plan to keep initial camp site runs to less than 100 to 150 miles. After calculating all the weight figures I am right there at the limit. Of course I will be towing with empty water tanks with the exception of a few gallons in the black tank. My camp sites that I plan to visit must have power and water hookups available (at least for now). I am sure I will learn a lot down the road!

Welcome! We will be starting the sixth season in our 1750RD next week. Possibly looking at something a little bigger now that we upgraded the TV and have a lot more payload to play with. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we have. Gotta love those back windows!

Hi, My Keystone 1750 RD trailer is a 2022. It comes standard with a 200w solar system.
I wish an inverter came standard with the system but it is pre-wired for one. The system Keystone recommends will run me $1600 just for the parts including the hookup cables and controller. I have no idea what's involved as far as installation goes. Not sure how much "off the grid" camping I will do anyway so I may just pass on it.
So far spent one week at Cassini Ranch by Bodega Bay with power and water hookups. Love camping so much more now compared to just using a tent. It's more involved but well worth it!
Cheers

The move from "tent" camping and the kinds of things it offers, and doesn't, is a bit of a change but moves you to a much, much better camping experience IMO at an older age (my bones don't like rocks, bedrolls or cots any longer). Once you get everything set up and used to it you will find it is so much LESS involved than trying to tent camp...I bet you love it.
Lots of tricks and tips on the forum so do some searching or just ask!!
