Lightbulb Back up camera and tail lights

I have a Furion backup camera in place of the center tail light on the back of a Springdale 1790. it only works when the lights are on, i.e. the taillights are powered. I don't mind towing with my lights on all the time, but it dims my dash. I would prefer the camera to work whether headlights lights are on or off. Is it possible to wire the tailights to run whenever the trailer hitch is plugged in, regardless of headlights? I saw a dedicated wire to the taillights on a wiring schematic, and it seems powering it constantly rather than dependent on headlights would do the trick. I worry that I'm oversimplifying.

Thanks in advance!

Mine is powered whenever the battery disconnects are in the on (closed) position.

Does this mean yours is powered off the battery?

Yes, I need to check if it is on a circuit by itself or powered from an inside 12v light at the rear.

You should have a dial or wheel somewhere on your dash(usually to the left of the steering wheel) that will enable you to brighten your dash lights so they are visible during the day time. Just a thought.

I have the furrion camera system. When I hooked it up I was having some issues. I contacted furrion and while talking with the tech I was informed the headlight have to be on in order for the camera to work.

Yes I will all but guarantee that most likely the knob/button/widget that you use to dim/ brighten your dash lights will also return the dash to full bright mode for daytime use.
