Water Damage

Any idea on how to remove the backer board from the insulation on the sidewalls?? I'm trying to replace since I have a corner leak, and it traveled down the wall.

It would help if you shared the year and model of your camper. If the exterior looks smooth (like fiberglass) then the side walls are glued under pressure and you cannot replace a section of interior wall.

That would depend on the extent of the damage. For instance, if it's a 2"x2" area you'd repair it much differently than if it were the entire end wall of a slide or a 3'x6' area under a window.

The FIRST thing you need to do is identify AND STOP the water infiltration. Where is the leak? You need to include much MUCH more information about what you're seeing, where it's located, how much of the wall is involved, what other damage is visible (that's a start on information needed to make any kind of repair plan)….

So from what it appears, with the setup of the bunkhouse, there is a compartment approximately 2 foot deep, the width of the camper. There is damage in that compartment from top to bottom on the sidewall. The water is coming down to the linoleum floor, and traveling down between the wood and the aluminum structure. It wicked up the wall approximately a foot at the back wall, and 6 inches at the front of the bunk house wall. The floor is solid, it appears it stayed on top of the linoleum into the bunk house.. The damage is contained to an approximate 6 foot, by 2 foot area in the bunk house, and a 9 foot high by 2 foot wide rear compartment. That section of the OSB subfloor is significantly damaged, was removed and allowed the fiberglass insulation on the floor to dry.

The initial plan in my mind was obviously finding and stopping the leak, working on the sidewall, pulling the entire linoleum from the back to the entrance door since its cracking anyway. The only part that im unsure on how to deal with is that sidewall. The moisture has deteriorated the glue on the paneling, so its been coming off with ease, but the under layer of the backer board is damaged and remains. I don't necessarily want to leave it if there is mold within it, so that was the purpose of asking.
