Tunica County, MS

This is all about one of our lengthy stays at a MS casino. This one is the Hollywood Casino, Tunica. (It’s actually located in Robinsonville).

We have always enjoyed riverboat gambling - Mississippi style. We started vacationing in the Gulfport/Biloxi area long before we ventured into full time RVing. Our favorites were the Grand in Gulfport and the Isle of Capri in Biloxi. The Isle of Capri was also our favorite hotel.

When we went RVing we stayed at the Military RV parks at the Naval Construction Base at Gulfport and the Kessler AFB at Biloxi. After they were severely storm damaged we shifted our travels to Tunica County up near Memphis and used the numerous casino campgrounds. We have used all of them.

The Hollywood casino is one of four casinos located at the very southern end of Casino Strip Resort Blvd. Its RV Park does not have the largest parking spaces but it has location. It is bordered on two sides by the golf course. Another side is near the employee parking lot and the last is the park office and back entrance to the casino. There are eight handicap - big rig - sites behind the park office. From there you cross a two way park road and enter the back entrance to the casino. All RV park residents have access to that entrance.

The park office also acts as the resident ticket office for any bus/van tours of the local area attractions including an all day round trip to Memphis and back which includes lunch at a rustic Beale, St. Location. Here are a few pictures from our all day van tour to Memphis.

We stayed at one of the casino RV parks there. It was plenty good.
If you ever are back in the area maybe drive down the famous Hwy61 to the blues museum in Clarksdale. Be aware there was a very low railroad underpass in town. Ground Zero Blues Club is sorta interesting too. Is, or was, owned by actor Morgan Freeman.

We have stayed at the Hollywood Casino RV park several times and have always had a good time. We try to hit several of the casinos. Champagne brunches are among are favorite thing. Of course the crap tables run a close second. We also like the Biloxi area, we just spent Christmas week there and had a ball. If you like "The Blues" this is a great area.
