She's here!

I finally got the call, our new 195rb arrived at the dealer, our first. Looking forward to enjoying a bunch of Colorado beauty in it this year!

I've got a PDI list, hopefully all that will go smooth.

Congrats!

Take your time at the delivery inspection, then get it out and use it.

Thumbs up

Congrats

Some of these dealers are not used to people coming in prepared to actively participate in a comprehensive walk through, therefore I would suggest that you inform the dealer that you are planning to do a comprehensive walk through so he can schedule his technical staff accordingly. My guess would be to allocate 3 - 4 hours for this walk through, obviously the complexity of the rig, knowledge of the dealer staff, issues found/resolved, and your overall knowledge/preparedness will determine more accurately the total time. Another thing to consider is do you want every issue fixed on the spot or are you willing to allow them to document issue(s) and fix some or all of them at a latter time. If parts need to be ordered to resolve issues, this will definitely effect how quickly issues will get resolved. Some thing to consider, you should have a plan. Customizing a general PDI list to your specific rig is also recommended.

Good Luck and Enjoy

Thanks for the input guys. I did preare them and they said it would be on shore power and ready when i got there. They seem to have a pretty good reputation, which is why i choose them. My philosophy is that whether you're talking Cadillacs, Harleys, whatever, things can go wrong. Having a good dealer behind you can make your life a lot easier when it does.

As far as repairs, it's pre-season and I won't be camping for a while, I plan to take advantage of the fact that they want that check.

Congratulations! You've received some good advice above. Since it has just arrived I would let the dealer do their initial walk thru/inspection/repair routine and ask for their punch list. You've informed them you want to do your walk thru as well so when they are complete you could do yours. I would let them keep it for a bit to make any needed repairs before I took it out. When you do, there are LOTS of nice places in CO to see.

Congrats on the new rig. Take PARAPTOR's advice about scheduling a longer than normal PDI walkthrough. I did just that, telling them that this was my very first ever trailer and I knew very little to nothing about them, and it might take several hours....and it did. I wanted to see all the systems and see them operate, learn how to operate them myself, and then, at the end of the PDI, I had them winterize the trailer, as it would be sitting over the winter. It may already be winterized (you're in Denver right?), so make sure that they re-winterize it for you again, AND get involved in watching them winterize the unit so that you know how it's done for the next time. As stated above, make sure that anything and everything that is found to be amiss during the PDI, is duly noted and a process is in place to have it taken care of before you leave with the trailer.
