There is an adjustment for the height of the bottom outside edge. Changing it will make the slide "lean" out or in as it retracts. Its possible that yours is leaning back as it retracts and when closed, there isn't any "pressure" on the top edge to keep it tight against the trailer wall.
This is just a guess, based on my experiences in adjusting slides. I wouldn't recommend doing any adjustments without having it looked at by a technician with some knowledge of slide mechanisms.
