looking at a 2015 Passport Ultra Lite 238ML

Recently retired and shopping for our first TT... just the two of us but occasionally will have son or daughter join us....

We considered an Ameri-Lite and a KZ Sportsman Classic 19BHS... Both of these were in the 2900 lb range dry....and then we found a Passport Ultra Lite 238ML... The dealer was asking $21,019 and offered it at $19,500..... I see online it can be had for about 1500-2000 less.... Any feedback appreciated.....

We bought our '14 238ML in February for $17,200 in Colorado. I think it has every option except for aluminum wheesl, but I'm not sure. Dealers in Ohio had the same unit for about $14k, with the difference mainly being in transportation costs from the factory to CO. I think if you shop around, you can find some better prices to use when negotiating with the dealer.

It does look like the new 238ML's may come with an electric awning, so the prices may have gone up some.

Couple of questions for you if you don't mind....Are you happy with your purchase? What is your tow vehicle?

Very happy. It's our first camper and it has served us well. We had 4 people and our dog in for an extended trip and it did great. I wish it had a couch so that we could watch TV occasionally but that isn't a top priority for us. I am a bit stymied by the upper bunk. Ours came with a sticker that said it has a 150lb weight limit, but others here with the same year/model have one that says 300lbs. We have been using the top bunk for storage of quilts, pillows, etc. We moved the mattress down to the lower bunk so it is more comfortable.

I tow with a '99 GMC Yukon 4wd. It does pretty good, but I haven't headed into the Rockies with it yet. The mountains in WV weren't too bad but the altitude here has a large impact on power.

I was mowing my lawn and realized I gave you the wrong purchase price. We paid $17,500, which included an Equalizer brand 10k WDH and a brake controller.

NGAcamper, Have you had any luck finding your 238ML?
