Generator Battery cable

Well we have owned this Honda 3000 is Genny for 10 years now, have had to replace the battery a couple of times, and pull starting it can be a pain literally and figuratively at times.

So I was thinking about "boosting" it, then a light bulb flashed above my head and I had a Ah Ha moment......why not wire in a jumper cable to hook up to the TV battery, then the light bulb got brighter and I said to myself, self (because that's what I call me when I have those stupid arguments....) why not utilize the trailer connector in the box of the truck.........

Genius....And here is what an hour and $30 worth of consumables can do for you!

No battery power in the genny, no problem............

It's amazing what laziness can drive you to do.

Did you have to make that hole in the generator, or was there already some external hookup thingie you commandeered for this project?

The grommet was "acquired" from work. I drilled the hole and filed it out and voila.....perfection!

Laziness is not a trait I have, but I have a huge Craftsman snow blower with an electric starter as well, and pull starting that puppy at -40 is really, really, REALLY not fun!

It may not be fun but I'd wager you are warm when you do get it started

Warm in more ways than one!

It was very frustrating last year as it would not start and I had to drag out that old style shovel.......a few choice words were exchanged between Self and machine, which was inanimate at that time.......
