first tow with f350
Well we just got back from frontier town in Md with the new set up. I was really interested in how it would differ from the old truck but WOW. It was really nice to have the option to get in the fast lane and pass when needed. I only got 11mpg but that was about 4mpg differnce over my 1500 gasser and about a 1000 pounds less(golf cart)..
old
new

Is that a golf cart *and* a dump truck in the back of your truck? Amazing load!
And that Sprinter is a long beast. What's that dangling from the mid section? It looks like a sewer cap.

LOL you sir are correct. It was the sewer cap. Yeah its the golf cart and we ran outa room for his Gator. It is pretty long. My brother has same truck with a raptor 310 and Im about 4ft longer. The camper itself is 37 ft. I was actually impressed with the lack of sag from all the wieght

I made the same jump last year from the 1/2 ton Ram to the F350. We are 55 feet long hitched. Your are right about the difference in towing. Worlds apart. We can take our Golf cart now too. You have a nice set up. I hope you have many trouble free miles ahead of you. Enjoy

Wow...what a load. Made the jump from a Tundra to a 3500HD this year also. You are right about being able to jump out when needed. Surprise myself now and then.....just shake my head and mumble "Wow!" to myself with the power of the Duramax turbo.
Were you at Frontier Towne over the Memorial Day holiday? We were there then....left Monday evening.
Anyway...good luck with that rig!

Thanks everyone. Its a 06 with about 39k on the clock and shes all stock as of right now. It even still has the most awesome factory EGR valve in the industry! lol The funny thing is a friend that went with us had a 04 and he was only getting 7mpg! Think something was wrong with that one. Im not sure how long the truck is but Id say atleast 16ft so with the trailer its about 53ish ft?

I bet it's longer than that. A Chevy crew long bed is 21'. I'm guessing a Ford is about the same. Add a foot for the tow bar. 59 foot. Yikes.

Great place Knobles......like taking a step back in time! Tickets for each ride......like you're back in the 50's or 60's....... Great for small kids! Very family oriented!
Have fun!

I was going to say you must be longer than that. Our crew cab short bed with trailer is over 53' from bumper to bumper.

Don't forget those tires are only rated for 65 MPH so don't jump to fast...

If it's an ST tire, I'd be willing to bet it's 65. Besides, in my neck of the woods, 55's the limit for trailers.
