@Festus2 - My DW said, only if you take the pic, and you post it but the catch is, you'd have to be at the campground in Myrtle Beach on the 29th when she does it.... LOL

Okay guys and azlee (of course).....

How did all of this get thrown back at me? Anti-bullying week may be over but I am still wearing pink not leopard prints!

Respect your elders and think about trying to give SlowPoke some advice about backing up into a campsite - his original question. And please, forget about suggesting that he have someone, especially his DW, get out of the TV and give him directions. He's beyond help. Take a look at his avatar and you'll know what I mean.

More "backing in" suggestions anyone?

Practice is overrated. After what seems like fifty times backing into my storage spot, I have good days and bad days. Rarely can I park it right the first time. Sometimes I do well solo, sometimes poorly. Same goes if I have help from the DW.

What I need to do is use some sort of landmark system where I try to line up the corners of my truck and trailer so they're pointed at my target, then use some sort of steering wheel measurement system so I now when and how much to turn.

I should start taking notes of my trial-and-error methods.

Man... Festus2 just threw it all back in my lap...where it started. No "Hot potato" goin' on here!

All the suggestions have been great, I'm going to start compiling the best of the best, and maybe draw a few diagrams up from info gotten as well on other realms of the net and drop a "Backing in guide for newbies" on the google drive for all to play with!

Thanks guys/gals, and uh, Pinky Festus2 !

I like backing in from the driver side when possible,I have a fifth wheel so is a little different from a bumper pull but not much.once the trailer starts the direction it needs to go I slowly start following it with the truck and if i dont catch up in time and I know I'm about to cross the point of no return I pull forward just a little and that usually does the trick.I have seen people go past the point of no return and get totally jack-knifed or when they pull forward they pull all the way to where they started from.just pulling up a little should be all that is needed.
