We all slept in the Cougar last night and we are taking an over nighter this afternoon to shake her loose about 40 minutes down I95 at Pedro's South Of The Border.
It was fun and we learned some stuff also!
I'm nervous and Excited at the same time between my Wife and I we have watched all the youtube videos I can stand and read this forum as well as a couple groups on FB.
Wish us luck its our first trip of the year and the maiden voyage with the Cougar.

Have fun and best of luck at South of Border. Stopped there once about 3 decades ago when the girls were young. We took our Cougar on the maiden voyage from NC to FL ~~ 1st night was in Jacksonville FL. Best of luck and hope you find zero issues as we did.
So for our first ever camping trip, we decided to stay close to home but to get a feel for driving with Rv in tow. We headed South to Hamer/Dillon S.C. For starters coming off I-95, make sure you are paying attention to the signs. The campground is off to the back behind store that has an alligator under the sign. We passed it at first but once we found it, we noticed signs everywhere! Haha! We checked in and the front desk clerk wasn't overly friendly but had a smile on her face, which is always nice! The campground is gated, so you need a key (like a hotel room key) to get in and out! Very easy to navigate to your site! We chose a pull through, and we were all pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of room for our Silverado, 26' RV, and my wife's Acadia. Full hook-ups, and believe it or not they were on both sides, so regardless of how we pulled in. Bath-house was close, included showers and laundry room. Although they needed updating, they were very clean. At the site, there was a picnic table, but no access to a fire pit, or grill. Some areas of the park were well lit, like the bath-houses and playground. We were 100 yards from all the touristy stuff, and believe me, it is touristy! With all the traffic, it was actually quiet in the campground. All in all we would go again just to get a way and if you are passing the area and need a place to camp for the night, this is an inexpensive but nice place to stay!
Did want to mention the Back-Ins have a shared firepit/campgrill.
