Outside shower quick connect doesn't fit

We have a 2015 Laredo LHT 25BH. It has the outdoor kitchen and an outdoor shower. The outdoor kitchen has a plastic flexible faucet that you need to connect with the usual quick connect fitting. The outdoor shower came with a blue coil hose with the same quick connect. So the coil hose and faucet both connect to the outdoor kitchen with no problem. Neither one of them will connect to the outdoor shower??????Is it possible the outdoor shower is a smaller size? I searched and couldn't find anybody else with this question, sorry if I missed something.

They should be the same size. I often times see the center portion of the quick connect get "frozen" for whatever reason. I have had luck turning off the water and opening a different faucet to relieve any pressure. Then take a screwdriver and gently tap the center portion to free it up.

If your not comfortable doing that, then take the quick connect fitting off the hose and use it to tap on while you hold the lock ring back.

I had the same problem once. It turned out that the female quick connect fitting had a little bit of corrosion built up in the spring release, enough that the outer ring would not retract enough to fit the male end.
I took the fame end apart, cleaned it up in wd40, put back together and it worked ever since.

Take a screwdriver and lightly tap the center of the outside shower fitting. It's stuck closed. Heck my cougAr even had a sticker on it from the factory instructing you to do this and it said you should lubricate it if not used frequently. A light tap and mine worked fine

Thank you guys for the info. Working today, but will give the screwdriver a chance when I get home in the morning.

Thanks again! I tried the old screwdriver with a hammer and bang, it's all good. Thank you for the advice. I was all proud of myself for a minute until I realized I still am a total RV Rookie. I left the water pump on the other day and killed the battery. Ugh, at least it's winterized.

Leaving a water pump on doesn't make you a rookie, even seasoned RV'rs do it sometimes. It only proves your like the rest of us..... human

While we are on this topic what do people actually connect to the hose the outdoor shower came with. It's just a hose basically. What are the uses ?

I usually have a regular garden sprayer on mine. Since it is located very close to the sewer fitting, it is some times easier to use it for rinsing after dumping, especially on camp sites.

In our Montana I use mine to hook up to the black water tank rinse system which is located in the same "utility compartment". We haven't camped at a sand beach area yet, but I would think it would be useful to rinse off sand.

My first thought when reading this was possible comtamination of the fresh water tank. I just wouldn't feel comfortable with the cheesy, plastic backflow valve in the trailer (its just a bad sealing, plastic to plastic flapper valve). This is just too close to connecting the fresh tank to the black tank for my comfort. Failsafe is not connecting the two tanks, IMO.

Thanks Brian for posting those. We have a slightly different setup. It's actually a hose that connects to a plug in style fitting.

I have the same thing in my Springdale. Water pressure is terrible on that thing. How is it on yours?

In our docking station is the outside shower faucet with the quick connect fitting. It came with a blue springy type hose. Each time we hook it up we have to take a nail punch and a hammer and give it a good wack to relieve the pressure so we can push the male part in to it. Both a Keystone Tech and the tech at our dealer said that's what we have to do each time we want to hook the hose up to it.....Morons that design this @%^$ evidently never use it. IT'S A REAL PAIN IN THE GLUTS.

Howdy KSH,

Other than opening the vales to winterize it, we have never used it.

The camper is out in the yard, so I can go check later and let you know.

Thanks,

-Brian
