Snow in the fridge..

Is realize some of you are enjoying warm camping weather which is not the case for me in northern Alberta. I was in the trailer today cleaning up a bit because it finally warmed up above freezing and I was bored. Found a bunch of water leaking onto the floor from the bottom edge of my fridge. I pulled the cover off the outside and saw a few good snowballs worth of snow piled in there which was now melting and running inside. Just an FYI for the others that enjoy 8 months of winter, it looks like it blew in from the roof vent.

That's one reason I always remove the refrigerator access cover, put a piece of plastic sheeting behind it and reinstall the door. I do the same with the hot water heater and then use aluminum duct tape to seal the furnace vents. It helps to keep the "weather out" of the RV interior.

I've never had a problem with snow being blown into the refrigerator space from the roof vent, I think partly because once snow covers the roof, there's no opening for it to blow in. If I had a top vent that was installed above the lower one (in a slide) I'd also put a piece of plastic sheeting behind it.

Another consideration is that it "might" help to keep critters out as well.
