Central Vac Switch

It's a rainy day in Florida so time for a quick $10 mod.

We have a factory installed Dirt Devil central vac. It works great! However, there is one thing that has always troubled us a bit. What turns it on is the lifting of the outlet door when you connect the hose. That's ok until the phone rings, or nature calls, or ?? and you want to shut it off temporarily without unplugging the hose. Easy fix was to install a switch that controls power to the outlet.

Cut a hole for the new switch, used bailing wire to fish the wire (24v 18/2) to the outlet then spliced the wire inline to one of the two wires on the outlet. Tested it, then closed it all up. Total time was under an hour.

Nice! Might have to look at this. Where'd you find the switch at?

You forgot to get out the P-Touch and label it.

Kidding. Looks good.

I get a kick out of our panel that looks like yours. Why didn't they put the bedroom slide control on the bedroom end on the panel in the order they're on the trailer?

Silly.

Quad - got it from Amazon. Around $8. Lots of online web stores or rv/marine stores carry them. Do a search for "rv Single SPST On-Off Switch with Bezel"
