No Dancing Spats…Just a New Pair of Shoes!

Hello Everyone,

This will be my first trip topside, so I thought I should pick up a pair of “Roof Walkers“..
I was afraid the rungs would hurt my Arches if I went up in my Stocking Feet !!

I will be installing my new Winegard RV-WING Wingman White UHF TV Antenna Booster.
Plus…I will be looking around at everything?

I will keep my shoes in their box and only wear them on the Roof.!!

What do you wear topside when you do inspections and maintenance?

Its going to take you longer to put those shoes on than to install that UHF adapter. One good thing is that is helps bring in many more of the higher channels

I wear sandals or Crocs, I just don't tell my friends that I own a pair of Crocs.

When I installed mine I just faced the antenna towards the side of the trailer and brought it down. Then I could reach it from a step ladder and not have climb on the roof. I still go up for cleaning but most inspections can be made from the ladder. Be safe, be careful, Hank

+1 for Hankpage! At 235#, I stay off of the roof as much as possible!

I did it from a step ladder too. After cranking the antenna up,and aiming it so it would flop over the side, I cranking it as far down as it would go without forcing anything.

Fast and easy!

I also installed mine from a step ladder. Quick and easy.

I prefer being barefoot on the roof if I'm up there. So, I wear my sandals (slip-on ones) up the ladder and one step on the roof and take them off. Do whatever needs done and put them on right before stepping onto the ladder again. Once or twice that was a pain in the hiney so I just walked around with my berkenstocks on. Didn't look like they hurt anything up there either, but I did try to "tread lightly".

I don't have the option of staying off roofs, rain or shine. Good pair of sneakers and very slow steps. I can tell you from personal experience, the membrane roofs are much easier than the fiberglass ones if it's wet.

Just don’t forget you’re wearing them and go to Wal-Mart…You might get your picture on the People of Wal-Mart Page…lol Especially if they’re Orange!!

With my Antenna Setup I could of used your suggestion…I just wanted to get up on the Roof and try out my New Shoes.

I was going to buy a 12 foot Step Ladder and changed my mind.. What I used was an Extension Ladder “well padded”

I’m thinking Barefoot might not be a bad Idea!!!
If I decide to go that way I’ll put my Roof Walkers up for sale on the Forums Classifieds…..lol

I forgot to add that I was able to pick up a few more channels with this installed.
I guess you could say I can see a difference....

Unless I'm missing something with the Factory installed Jenson 32 in. TV. every time I turn the Antenna in a different direction I have to re-scan for channels and loose the ones I already have stored. Plus... I see no way to manually add Channels.

Turning a directional antenna by design with its narrow lobe will pick up more channels as well as loose others based on available channels in your area. Due to this fact you will need to re-scan your television to recognize those new channel signals as well as lose others. With this UHF add on it is expected that you will pick up more of the higher channels (UHF) in your area. Number of additional channels picked up will depend on where you are
