T-handles stolen off dump valves!!!!

Yep, just left a campground. Drove to my next campground went to dump and both my T handles for my black water tank and grey water tank were missing. Has anyone else experienced this. Has me concerned as is there a lock of some sort for fresh water cap?

If they would steal the T-handles, whose to say someone would put something down there.

Thx, in advance

Eddy

They are only threaded on the end of the rods. I would not be surprised if the road vibration loosened they and they fell off.

Maybe one, but not both!! Especially, before I left the previous campsite they were both on there.

So they were stolen while you were driving? I bet they loosened up and fell off.

Eddy, Howdy;

Lock-tight is good (use the blue), or borrow DW's nail polish and paint the threads then screw the "T"s back on... then you'll know for sure there is a
nefarious doer of evil deeds out there.

hankaye

PS. I use a zip tie to put some mild pressure on the pull rods as they are only just screwed on as well. Cut it off whenever I land somewhere.

They fell off. Tighten them up after each use or lock tight them.

Over the years I've lost probably a dozen or more T handles. To be honest, I really don't remember how many, but enough that I carry a spare set in my tool bag. Coming back from the UP a week ago, I stopped to dump tanks at a national forest campground and the rear (galley tank) T handle was missing. The other two were still there. So, right now I only have one in my tool bag. At the next camping store stop, I'll buy another couple.

My advice, don't imagine someone stole them, just get some spares so you're prepared for the next time.

Yes, I guess it has happened to me. I didn't think they were that easy to come off. I figured the kids at the last campsite took them off as a joke. Well, I guess the jokes on me

I've had this camper for almost 5 years and never heard or seen of such. First for everything. I'll be buying 2 sets as soon as I find an RV store. Im in Egg Harbor Michigan for 2 nights and heading south Wednesday. I'll be using locktite 272 the red. I know it won't come off with that one

Thx again everyone.

Found one Black Tank handle missing when I got home from camping, just put on some Tub and Tile caulk on the threads, also use to put on all exposed threads around and under the trailer, a small dab and from then on a quick look and you can tell if the threads have moved. Not always easy to go around and check torque on critical bolts.

Dang, one more 'spare' that I'll need though in 40 years have never lost one. I did find the lock nuts loose last weekend so it is probable.

Oh well, if it was stolen, no worse then someone stealing a taillight lens as happened to us at a CG in Kentucky last fall.

Some where on E-BAY there is a listing for "my collection of camper waste handles." I have almost 30 years worth of handles some are extreamly rare! Buy it now $3000.00 free shipping Visit my store to see the trailer tail lamp collection. When ya think you've seen it all life throws you one more. Some day you'll look back on this and laugh!

I am selling a/c covers and other vent covers along with a bunch of spare tire covers. That I picked up off the highways. I will send a road gator free with every order. (road gator is the remains of a tire after it blew up and left pieces all over the road to cause more flats or other damage when run over)
