Bullet or Passport???

Looking at Keystone for a travel trailer purchase.
I am confused - why the different lines - Passport and Bullet?
They both look about the same to me - different layouts of course - but almost identical features.
Is one supposed to be fancier than the other?

Good question. I believe both are entry level for the base units and both have trailers in the mid range if you look at Grand Touring or Premier. Many trailers are similar to others for whatever reason. Just because something is under the Keystone name, not all started there and most have there own factory I believe. I guess it comes down to which ever you like.

I bought a bullet because it came with more standard features that was options on the passport

It may have something to do with marketing. Two dealers near each other can't sell the same "line". Change the name on the front cap and Keystone can cover the market.

We have a Passport Grand Touring. We liked the floor plan and a real shower in the bathroom. So far we have not been disappointed. For sure it had a few quirks that I had to work around, but doing modifications is half the fun of having an RV.

Chuckster - you may have just hit it on the head.
I'm in the Kansas City area - one dealer is on the NE Corner of the metro and they only sell the Bullet. The other is on the east side of the metro and they only sell the Passport!

There are minor differences in features but almost exactly the same thing. Of course, different layouts and lengths.

I have a similar inquiry in to Keystone itself. It'll be interesting to see what they have to say.

I looked closely at both models and ended up going with the Passport 2400BH Grand Touring for 4 main reasons. 1. The layout with the bunk beds suited my family's needs. 2. The all aluminum and hardwood framing. 3. The outdoor kitchen. 4. the full size queen and fully enclosed master bedroom.

Both the bullet and passport had models in our price and weight budgets, the passport simply had the one with all the features we were looking for. If the bullet had those features, I would have purchased it. In general however, I think the bullet is considered the entry level and the passport a step up, especially when you go with the grand touring or elite versions.

I think they are about the same construction wise. We are happy with the bullet. Go with the floorplan you like the best. Good luck and have fun!!

Sounds about the same for us... We were looking at the Passport 2400BH and the Bullet 243BHS almost identical floorplans. Things we noticed when looking were:
1. the bullet has a 78" long RV Queen mattress and the passport has a true Queen size mattress (80" long).
2. the bullet had 3/4 length wardrobes the passport were full length.
3. the bullet had curtains for bedroom privacy the passport had sliding doors.
4. the bullet was $1800 cheaper but had a few less features.

In the end we chose the passport and love it but we probably could of been just as happy with the bullet.

Hmm- I've always thought the Passport was Keystone's entry-level trailer?
Either way, you would be hard pressed to find construction differences between the two. Buy whichever meets your needs, wants and budget.

Passport builds three "levels" of trailers. The Express, the Grand Touring and the Elite. Each Passport in the series has improvements (extras) and correspondingly increased sticker pricing. It's much like Ford, Mercury and Lincoln. The level of "luxury" increases as you "go up the line" but they are all pretty much the same "build quality".... (They are all Fords)...

No need to be self conscious about your Passport, remember there are always "those SOB trailers" sitting in campgrounds along with your Keystone product.... LOL

We opted for the Bullet 243BHS, but it sure looked to me that they both are assembled in the same building, with the same materials by the same people, with just minor differences. No real issues so far, and we are having fun with it. Choose whichever one has the features you prefer, at the price you are willing to spend..... then get out and enjoy it !! Good luck.
