Fuzion 371 Delamination

Hi Everyone

I have a 2014 Fuzion 371 and on the bedroom slide and at the back by the ladder I am starting again to get delamination after taking it out of storage this year from 2 years worth of not using it. two part question:

1. does anyone know what is causing this as I thought the first time it was due to cold and moisture in behind the gelcoat but it is now summer

2. what can I put on these spots for now to seal this up until I can get it fixed in the fall. I want to say the first time I had it I was told to use clear nail polish to seal it for now.

Thanks for your time and any info would be greatly appreciated

Ken

Typically delam is caused by water getting in behind the panel. That is normally around a window or along the roof line, but any seem can allow water intrusion. The first thing is to identify where water may be getting in. A thorough inspection of all the seems is required. If it the roof, dicor lap sealant is used to reseal. If it’s around a window, or ladder connection points, that’s typically sealed with butyl tape. I’ve never heard of using mail polish on anything.

NAIL POLISH??? Don't use nail anywhere but on your nails.
That sounds like the typical Facebook remedy!
You've been given correct useful remedies, if you need more ask here & not wherever you got the nail polish answer.

Thanks for that. Yes it needed a new roof and was installed a couple years ago but just funny that just taking it out of storage now that it started since i washed it. So with the nail polish a no no to seal the delam to not let further water to the bare wood what would be recommended.

If it needed a new roof a couple years ago, it’s possible water got behind the panel before that was completed. Delam never fixes itself and doesn’t always happen overnight. The current damage you’re seeing now, may have happened year ago and is just now rearing it’s ugly head. I’d still check everything over real well to make sure you don’t have new access points for water. That needs to be checked every 6 months.
