390DS 2nd Bedroom AC

So we just got our 390DS. Full Timers with a full crew. The 2nd bedroom only has 1 AC duct and is literally always 15-20 degrees hotter than any other room in the RV. Is this normal?

If you look at the 3D walk through of that model on the Keystone website it shows 2 vents in that bedroom. One vent could make it close to unbearable in W TX heat.

The construction of these things varies all kinds of ways but one thing I wouldn't accept (but probably already have) is one vent in that bedroom. That appears to me to be an obvious mistake. I would be contacting the dealer in the morning. BTW, where did you buy that in Midland? Last time I looked around over there they had very little in the way of new RVs.

Welcome to the forum from the sunny Texas Hill Country! Just curious, are you moving this camper around? Perhaps there are options for more cooling. I am not familiar with a 390DS so a signature with year, make and model of your camper and if you are towing, same for your tow vehicle will help folks answer your questions with context. Under UserCP top/left of every page and make sure you save it. Good luck.

Brownfield?? Guess I'll drive over there in the next couple of days. Had no idea that Bailey Tolliver had put RVs in.....Brownfield?? Guess the proximity to Lubbock helped. Thanks.

Last time I was up in Lubbock I ate at Bryans's Steakhouse. It was really good chow. May hop on the trike if the heat relents and take the missus up for a steak. Probably cost me $7000 in gas at 30mpg bwhahahahah

I have had our 390DS for about a month. Mine only has the one vent and it is not adequate to keep it as cool as the rest of the rig. The ventilation from the heat ducts is not any better either. In another thread someone said they had a flow booster added to the one duct to increase the ventilation. I am looking into that as an option. I do love the Floorplan but it has some engineering flaws.

The Keystone Avalanche Owners Group on Facebook has a lot of discussion on the 390DS back bedroom AC along with fixes. Some useful information there.

Don't know how long it's been since your last visit but be prepared for some sticker shock on the price tag on that steak. Seems like every time my DW comes home from the grocery store she has less stuff but spends more money.

We do eat out a lot and very familiar with prices rising rapidly. When we went over to Gonzales in March to celebrate our 50th, we at Kloesel's Steak House in Moulton and spent well north of $100. Ate at the Texas Road House in SATX not long ago and spent over $60 with nothing fancy. I think one of the added benefits to this current economic befuddlement will be PBJs added to every steak house menu.

Ugh. We have a 2023. Just realizing that there is ONE vent in the second bedroom. I’m just furious. One small square to cool almost a third of the unit. The heat doesn’t get back there. As the op said it’s 15-20 hotter in there. A bedroom should be able to shut the door and sleep. We bought a 3rd ac when we originally purchased. I’m glad, but it doesn’t help draw air into the bedroom and bathroom.

I’m just so irritated. Common sense would mean making sure that heat and ac move thru the entire unit.

I’m so so sick of the problems we’ve had I would trade it in if we wouldn’t lose our asses.
