Small fifth wheel

Saw this at the campground.. didn’t realize they make them this small in the standard fifth wheel style.. I knew there was a company that makes micro fifth wheels but this looks like a regular with the back chopped off.
Makes me think when you hook it up to the hitch it the entire fifth wheel would be off the ground and just swinging in the air

Many companies offered versions with a body approximately 24’ without overhang.

I call that "the full filing cabinet syndrome".... It's not that we "forget what we knew" rather it's that we learned so much "new stuff that got stuffed in the files" that we can't find the old stuff crammed between the pages..... As soon as we "get a hint about what we can't remember, we find that file and it all "comes rushing back"...

I used to tell my aging patients who were frustrated that they couldn't remember everything this:

If you get frustrated that you can't remember things as well as in the past, "It's Old Timers Disease"...

If you "go happily on your way not remembering what you went into the kitchen to get" and it doesn't bother you to wander out of the house looking for something, not knowing what it is"... That's Alzheimer's Disease....

The fact that you know you forget things, well, that's a reassuring sign that you're "aging well"

My first fiver was a 1989 Fleetwood "terry Resort" 215B. was 21 feet long. You had to crawl up into the overhead bed and the landing gear were two seperate jacks. I paid $4800 NEW, including a new RBW hitch that I installed in my truck, 1986 F250 extended cab.

This is very similar to our 1st 5th wheel, except the stripe was yellow & after our little pop up it felt huge. It was definitely 1/2 to towable! The hitch had pieces that bolted over the fender wells & was as wide as the truck bed.
Had to crawl into the bed which was a mattress laying on the floor & hope you didn't get startled at night & sit up real fast or you'd knock yourself out on the ceiling.
I took a transfer for work & lived in it for 4 months til we sold our house & DW could come & find a new home.
AH! The memories!

Poppy, your 5th wheel is 28'10". The 25 in the model doesn't mean a whole lot these days.

Oh yeah, that is a KZ Sportsmen 231RK in the pics.
