Newbie in Portland, OR

Hi- I've just purchased a Zeppelin Z181. It's a 2004. Interior is a 10, exterior needs a little help. I needed a short trailer- I have the driveway from hell, with a dead end. It's steep downhill, dead end, no room to turn around a bigger rig. Backing in- I live on a busy 60mph road- it's suicide to get lined up and back in. Trust me, I've tried- sold my 5th wheel as a result.

Very happy to hear from owners of the same rig- one current question- the wheels are rusty, so I will replace them. They are 14", 5x4.5, with a 3" bore. Question is, what width are they?

2nd question- VERY heavy tongue weight, of course, single axle- is there a simple way to swing the tongue around? I have an electric jack with a flat plate base. Swivel wheels are too big to fit under the jack when it is raised all the way....

The trailer came with a Trailer Valet, which seems like a perfect solution, but it's kind of old and funky, and I don't really trust it. Thoughts?

Welcome aboard, neighbor! Never heard of the Zepplin until this post. I looked up one...looks like a nice little rig with everything you need. I'm no help on your questions but just wanted to say "glad you're here". Good luck getting it ready to take camping.

Welcome to the forum, I'm new here myself. I can't help with much, the wheel pattern is the same as boat trailers or Ford cars. I replaced the tires and wheels on the little Jayco I restored with load range D from eBay, mounted for $165. I have done this for our boat as well, I replace tires and wheels for less than the price of tires along from local suppliers.

The listing is for load range c tires, D tires are a little more.

Welcome, I lived there for 62 years.
Look up 6 robbies in Milwaukie they have all type of trailer supplies. Likely if you took a wheel to them they will have a match in stock. Also think about them for brakes, wheel bearings etc.

Hi, thanks for the greetings- I'm a newbie to this forum, but have lived in Portland for 10 years. War zone-what war zone? Have you ever been in a war zone? I live in NW, it's pretty much the same as it was when I first moved here. We are very happy here. This past year, we have avoided downtown because of the pandemic, and look forward to returning. Very sad that so many people are hurting one way or another, and we help where we can. We have hope that this coming year will be one of reconciliation, people coming together. Anyway, this is not the forum for anything but RV talk. I have done some repairs to my Trailer Valet, and replaced the solid foot on my trailer jack with a double wheel. Seems like now I will be able to 180 the trailer without too much difficulty. I have replaced the wheels with a sexy black pair, new tires, and now to start work on cleaning up the outside- and hopefully, a run out to the coast or 2!

KiwiJ,
I certainly didn’t intend for this to be anything other than welcome to PNW, Portland is my opinion. Yep, seen it first hand.

39 years cop in and around Portland I seen much change. Cannot believe what it has changed too from when I grew up or even started cop work in 1981.

It’s so sad to see it. My son in law has contract with Multnomah county. He cleans the graffiti off the walls and buildings every time they “protest” friendly, has to clean up halls between buildings where people walk of human waste. Yes, poo, scoop in bag and hose off the walls. So disgusting and sad at same time.
