Town closed all hotels and camping and will arrest any remaining in town after 24 hours. Exception for long-term campers that were in before March 11 and have a contract.
I think the courts will have a field day with this. You can close hotels, etc, but you can't kick people out of town, and in the 9th Federal Circuit Court District you can't arrest campers that have no where else to go, following the decision in Boise last year.

Im really interested in seeing what happens with BLM land. It’s an arbitrary patch of unimproved land...who’s at risk from a boondocker?

The best way for us campers is to call to make sure the campgrounds are open. Assume that governmental parks are closing but there just are too many private/city/county parks that will be missed.

This is getting totally beyond all belief!
Imagine the bird or swine flu epidemic a few years ago when hundreds of thousands (IN THIS COUNTRY) were sick, by todays measures there'd by armed soldiers in tanks roaming the streets like a bad movie.

Better safe than sorry. With new mutating viruses we learn new ways of combating them. If it doesn't work, then come the soldiers and tanks.

Most Texas State Parks are open. They are limiting staff to camper contact. Use credit cards or cash boxes. Visitor centers and TP&WD offices are closed to public. Looks like historical sites are closed.

Most places here in the Northeast don’t typically open until early to mid May anyway so I have not heard of any closures to be concerned about yet. KOA sent an email advising that they are open, but are limiting direct contact with customers. The US/Canada border is now closed to all non-essential crossings, which had a side effect of triggering the closure of many ski areas in the Northern parts of New England that depend on Canadian tourists. We might have to adjust our spring travel plans to the Midwest since we go through Canada along the way, but it’s too early to worry about that yet.

Big Bend Natl Park is open but no one is manning the entry points or welcome station so it is free I guess. They have a sign out saying campground is full. We were staying in Telingua at BJs RV Park as of Friday and Brewster County shut down all lodging including RV parks, motels, hotels, etc effective tomorrow 3/23 at noon so we headed out yesterday and are staying at a decent park in Del Rio. No problems with fuel but restaurants are all closed out in rural areas except for take out.

We are in at an RV park in CO. My fear is that if they shut everything down here it's getting hard to travel, maybe even illegal in some cases, and with camping places closing everywhere, there is getting to be nowhere to run. When you get there will they shut that place down too?

And there goes Washington State. They just closed all of the State and DNR (Dept of Natural Resources) campgrounds until April 30th. And also said stay off the beaches.

Oregon just moved up their closure date to Monday 3/23, all overnight visitors need to be out by 1:00pm, day use close at 5:00pm. Parks to remain closed until at least May 8th.

County of Tillamook, Oregon just closed ALL camping and hotels except long-term, truckers and essential workers. Looks like the rest of the coast is poised to follow.
I can tell you that in my home area FB groups, Curry County/Brookings, there is intense pressure to do this. Also, an announcement from Governor Brown (Kate, not Jerry, and no relation) is expected tomorrow with further restrictions.

Reserve America notified me that reservations I had in Illinois State parks could be cancelled due to all state parks being closed indefinitely.

What is really troubling is that states like Texas have parks that have a fairly high concentration of full timers... where are they supposed to go? How does staying in an RV park contribute to the spread of this virus? I think a lot of this may be due to local governments beginning to panic and not think clearly about the effect their edicts will have.

Florida Keys are closed! Not just camping but all visitors and tourists. I'm not sure what they are doing about long term contracts and where they expect everyone to go but I do understand that medical facilities there can be overwhelmed very easily and only one way in and out.
On the bright side ... the only businesses that have not been closed or restricted are liquor stores. Grain alcohol is the best hand sanitizer you can get and with a little lime it is safe to lick your fingers.
Stay well y'all, Hank

It’s probably a combination of things. Someone stating monthly probably wouldn’t be much of a risk, but if people were traveling a lot, they might inadvertently infect a previous clear region. And there’s not a good way to track.

Do you know if ReserveAmerica will refund your "convenience fee" they charged to make the reservation?

If "you" manually cancel it, I believe the fee is not returned. If they automatically cancel it because of closures, all fees will be returned to the card that was used to pay.

Good thing I still have a Conch Republic Passport.
I wonder if they will honor it......probably not. May have to be a certified square grouper catcher to get in now.

B.C. Provincial Campgrounds are closed but some parks are open for day use. Also Washington State Campgrounds closed until April 30.
