Camping is "alive and well" even for "Michiganders who live in the TUNDRA" LOL

We just returned from a month long "adventure" to Galveston, TX. It felt "wunnerful" to leave the 16F temps behind for a while. After walking along the gulf beaches in shorts and Tee shirts every day, one of the highlights of our adventure was an "insider's tour" of the NASA Houston Space Center provided by one of our members. It was especially interesting and certainly not a typical Galveston site to see.... We left Galveston, headed toward Denton and visited with another forum member and his DW. That was a most enjoyable evening !! We finally headed back toward Michigan with some "meandering" through the Midwest. We were in Wichita on May 5 when they broke the "all time record" with 102F. That definitely prompted a move to cooler places and we wound up in Elkhart, IN. A quick 10 mile jaunt to the Keystone factory for some long overdue tours of the various assembly lines. Very informative and yes, reassuring, in that these "boxes we own" are really built by people who put them together properly.

Next week we leave for another trip. We plan to spend a couple of weeks in "da UP, eh" for opening of Bass season and revisiting some of the spots we haven't been in years: Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls , Sault St Marie locks, Mackinaw Island and, of course, Lehto's pasties in St Ignace..... Ya betcha, by golly......

Gonna see a bit of Texas!

It's that time again; weather forecast is good for the weekend and wife and kids are getting excited. Gettin ready to head out once again to see a bit more of Texas. Been here going on 12 yrs this stint and we try to get out and see something new as often as possible but its never enough. Staying relatively close to home this trip; a short 55 miles North. Heading to "Poppy's Pointe" at Buchanan Dam, TX; http://www.poppyspointe.net/
We have a full-hookup reserved through Monday and can't get there fast enough; its been a crazy business year already and we're ready for the break.

We returned from our first trip this year last sunday. Out of the 4 days we were there it rained for 3 of them but it was still nice. Our seasonal site is set up now for the summer and were heading back up with our boat for a week of fishing.. can't wait

We just got back from a week long fishing trip in Central Oregon. First trip of the year. Everything worked fine and we had a great time.

Our son will use our truck and RV over the long weekend to attend a concert, so let the camping season begin.

Got word Thursday that Reese finally has the part made and is scheduled to ship. Yeah, and the check's in the mail, and I won the lottery, and my hair's growing back, and I'll get that elusive moose this year, and gas prices are going down.........

You'll have some catching up to do once that part comes in. We're headed out on our third trip this spring on Friday.
