It's a done deal

Well ya'll I am happy to say we will be taking delivery of our 2014 Cougar x lite 28 RLS on Next Friday.
Having 2nd AC installed due to this South Texas Heat .
Also having power tongue Jack installed & 3 max air vent covers over vents .
Will be towing with 2012 Ram 2500 HD 4x4 5.7 Hemi with Equalizer 4 point hitch.
This is going to be a big change going from a 2000 StarCraft 2406 pop up to a 31 ft. travel trailer.
I'm a little bit nervous towing something this long & pretty sure I will have lots of questions /concerns being this is our first real travel trailer.
This is going to be a long week.
Purchased @ Holiday World of Houston (League city) & have to say they have a very professional sales staff & service department .
Dealer is only 10 miles from home so if any warranty issues should come up It should not be an issue.
Will post photos once we take delivery.
Mike D.

I would think congratulations would definitely be in order here! After a few times out, you'll get used to it. Try taking it to a large, vacant parking lot, set out some markers and practice backing it into a site. Back into one located on the driver's side first, then the passenger side.
Enjoy and drive safely.

Congrats and enjoy. I tow 35 feet so it can be done, had to back in in the dark the other night, real fun. The key to it all is to be sure you pull up past the site the first time and it makes it so much easier backing in.

CONGRATS!! You'll love it.

I'm with Gary- ours is 35.5' from ball to bumper and it's our first trailer. If you use common sense you'll be fine driving with that fine beast behind you.

Which hitch setup did you go with? Make sure the dealer takes the time to properly set it up for your truck!

I understand you concern, when we went from a pop-up to a 19' TT we were getting ready to travel through the mountains of Tennesse and Virginia, I had a few sleeples nights over thinking it. After the first day no worries.

I went from a Pop up to a Passport Elite 31RE. Best investment I made for backing up was a pair of walkie talkie's. Wife helps me out with blind spots. I also find the heavier trailer easier to backup. The Pop Up took minor turns of the wheel very drastically. The heavier trailer not so much. Enjoy

Congratulations. We also got walkie talkies. They do work great for the blind spots.

Ain't nuttin to it. We just bought our Cougar 5th wheel from Holiday World out at Sealy. Easy dealing. Decent people. Just back from a 2500 mile trip. We went from nothing to the 5th wheel. Well we did have a class c back in the 1980's and a cabover before that. Where you think you'll use it most? Texas state parks, mountains, hunting lease??

Since the wife & I are both avid kayak fisherman/woman we'll probably spend lots of time in the Texas Gulf coast chasing trout. Redfish & flounder .
We have some friends that own a bait camp/restaurant/RV park on San Rayburn lake that we probably spend in spring time catching Crappie/catfish.
