I got tired of those short Camco things so thought I would buy some "upgraded" short hoses. Went to hook one up in MS and the hose came off the entire brass end on the faucet! So much for "upgraded", I too use a short hose now.

I bought a 3' drinking safe hose from True Value and connect it to the spigot and connect my cannister filter to it.

In my experience, those short hoses (as come with water filters) are nothing but leak generators. I just install a brass "L" ball valve at the top of my filter and screw it straight into the rig inlet. But I don't have a recessed convenience center.

I bought one of these from Amazon about 5 or 6 years ago when they were having a "buy one get one free" special. I believe it was around $5 back then. At 4' long, it's the perfect size to connect the filter canister to the city water inlet and hang the filter on the rear bumper of the trailer. Now, Amazon is charging around $10 for the same hose with no "free one included"...

This hose along with a 90 degree brass coupler are "perfect" to connect the hose without excess strain on the trailer plastic water inlet fitting.

With only a slightly longer search, you can find one of these with a ball valve inside. I love mine. It lets me turn the water to the rig off when I leave the CG, right at chest level. It also lets me "burp" the hose at a new CG before I hook it up, so I don't get all that air in our system.
