Old to Camping - New Keystone Owner

Good morning all,
My name is Chris. I live in Austin Texas. My wife and I Christine have been camping, both tent and RV, for the past 30 years. Up until recently all of our RV experiences have been with rentals as we weren't ready to commit to RV'ing on a regular basis.

So, up until now, I've not had to deal with the onslaught of repairs that come with every trip we take. I will certainly need to seek advice from many of you out there as I run into issues. Much appreciated, in advance.

We recently purchased a 2020 Cougar 27res and is pulled by an F250.

Welcome to the forum Chris from a fellow Texan! Used to drive out to the Salt Lick many decades ago to eat and get a pie....back before they became "known", when I lived in Marble Falls.

Don't worry about an "onslaught" of repairs after every trip. I assume you bought your trailer pre owned so just go over it thoroughly, fix what doesn't work, make mods to make it your own and smooth the camping experience then head out. I will be on this trip for 5 months and the only thing I expect to have to do is dump the tanks and make any mods I had planned on before arriving. I did have to pull a tire that had a leak due to a finishing nail stuck in it but that's really not a big deal if you have the proper tools....even for an old geezer.

Good luck, have fun and ask away with any questions you come across, lots of good, knowledgeable folks here willing to help.

Welcome from another native Texan!
You're now an rv owner, I can't imagine the abuse you may of had to deal with rentals.
Depending on the condition & care the PO gave the new to you rv you may not have an "onslaught" of repairs each trip, but if used regularly there will always be something to tighten, reattach, repair or replace, not to mention regular maintenance items regardless of make, model, price or manufacturer.
It's a house subjected to earthquake conditions every time you tow it to the next location on the great highway system.
Now load it up, head out & enjoy!

Howdy from the Texas Hill Country. That is a nice floor plan for couples... maybe could use a bit more counter space in the kitchen area? Anyway, ALL RVs need constant fixes; mostly small and that is part of the charm of owning one. (TONGUE FIRMLY IN CHEEK). Once you get things sorted, most fixes and repairs will evolve into normal maintenance. Been raining quite a bit so get up on the roof and reseal as needed! (after it stops raining).

Hello Chris, welcome to you and your DW to the forum!

Sorry to hear of all the issues you folks are having with your Cougar, but rest in the knowledge that once you have them fixed, it will be done right.

Enjoy your travels and stay safe!
