Removing Garage Couch

Hello everyone. I am new here so I am hoping I follow proper protocol. I want to remove one of the couches in the garage and replace it with a 2x5' maple counter top to use as a desktop. Looks like it would work well, however I noticed that to get the other couch low enough to use the desktop would be too low. Is there a way to adjust one side to lower to a different point than the other? Hope this makes sense....thanks.

If you look at the tracks on the wall, when you lower the beds/couches the upper one stops at a predetermined height. There will be a block that the upper couch rests on as the bottom couch continues to lower.

There is a motor on one side, and a square tube running across to operate the other side. If you remove the lower couches you might be able to move the stop for the upper couch.

Not sure if the upper is a couch or just a bed. Wouldn’t make much sense to have a couch as an upper. I don’t recall any way to set the lowers at a different height from each other. Maybe some type of a bracket that attached the desk top higher. Hopefully this makes sense, but a bracket that attaches at the point of the old couch, but has a riser to mount the desk up higher.

Thanks. I should have thought about blocking to raise the desktop. Just trying to avoid more work. gm

Changing Lanes on YouTube converted couches into desks. Different brand trailer but same system I believe
