2017 29RLI Water Pump

We just purchased a 2017 29RLI. My question is, the water pump works all the time. With the switch on or off. I think I know the answer but you never know.

First ... make sure there is water in the fresh water tank.

Second, make sure (if you have one), your winterizing valve is not set for winterize.

Is the pump running if you turn the electrical switch off? If it is, then obviously the switch has failed. Pull the fuse and replace the switch.

I will add, if there is water in the fresh tank and all the lines are purged, the pump should shut off once the lines are pressurized. There is possibly and adjustment, or you could replace the pump.

How do you turn the pump off? If it runs regardless of the switch how do you keep it from running the battery(s) down? Or, if it is your first tryout of the new to you trailer and it runs continuously see if you can find the fuse for it and pull it.

I would replace the switch first as Marshall suggested, or, pull the switch and use a meter to see if it is actually opening/closing the circuit. Being a "new to you" trailer there is no earthly telling what the previous owner may have done, heck they may have "hotwired" it.
