lippert solid state step
need install lippert solid step on my fifth with the door has the lower arm attached to it . The arm prevents it from flying open . Looking at the lippert step the flat metal , i call it the header that will screw on to the existing threshold . My question is has any one removed the arm and looks like the threshold would needed to be grinded down to be flat enough for the screen and door to close. Has anyone attempted this installation with my type of setup?

You need to remove the metal strip that is screwed to the floor and attached to the threshold. After that the solid step mounting plate should sit flat on the floor. You can install that plate after you mount the steps.

If it’s a strut, you could remove it, and use something like this to hold the door open:

They come in plastic, metal, straight and 90 degree.

If your looking for a better set of entry steps, I can recommend the glow steps. They replace factory steps and are much more stable.

I agree with Chuckster. Put a set of Torklift Revolution steps on our trailer. Absolutely love them. Easy to deploy, extremely adjustable, super stable and they were a drop in replacement for the stock steps. Took me less than an hour, alone, to remove stock step and install the Torklift steps.
