Lites Power Surge

I have a 2008 Keystone Cougar 291RLS. I noticed last fall
that the lites started to flicker. Now this summer they keep
getting brighter and then dimming down. It is very anoying.
I have it on a permanent site at a campground that is only 3-years
old with 50-amp service. It does not matter what we are running
or not running in the camper...exe. Air Cond..Micro Wave Etc.

Any suggestions.

Your lights are 12v and your battery is low on water or not taking a charge. What you are seeing is the converter turning on and off trying to charge the battery. If your battery was fully charged it will still happen but is barely noticeable. Check the water .... on an '08 that is probably all it is. Let us know the outcome, Hank

I will check that out. But I do not think that is the problem as I have two
batteries and I switch them out frequently because I use them for a Trolling
Motor on the boat. Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it.
I will keep you posted.

I have changed the battery out again. But what I noticed is the wire for
the Positive side of the battery was loose where it attaches to the camper.

I have tightened it up and it seems to be working fine now. We shall see.
Thanks for all the help. Cold Here in Rochester today.

Welcome LaBatt,

I too have a 291RLS, but it is 30 AMP and not 50 AMP.
We too have 2 batteries, but we have not experienced
the problem you seem to have.

Let us know what you figure out and if you get it resolved.

Jo

Lites Power Surge

I was reading all the posts and I have the same problem. Batteries are very good and at 100%. It's not just the 12v lights, also dimming on the 110v side. My coach heater also cycles fast and then slow and back and forth. I was told that it might be my converter. I'm having it checked next week.

Didn't see a resolution to previous posts.

I have a 2006 Everest 366I.
