Picking up a 260LHS on Wednesday

Hey, just introducing myself. My wife and I are picking up a 2015 Hideout 260LHS on Wednesday. It'll be our first RV (I'm 28). We live in Austin and are picking it up about an hour and a half away, in Seguin, TX. We looked at several used RVs, but found this new one and the price was right and we felt more confident purchasing it and immediately towing it all over the state.

My tow vehicle is a 2014 Ford F-150 XLT Supercrew 145WB 2wd optioned with Ecoboost, 3.55 Elocker, Trailer Tow Package incl brake controller, and other small options (302A). I'm running the 5* 87 perf/tow tune on it with 275/65r18 General Grabber AT2 tires (I opted not to go with the load E ones for fuel economy reasons, and now are wondering if I'll regret that decision.)

We hope to frequent several state parks and eventually branch out of state.

Welcome to the forum
Since this is your first RV purchase, you might want to consider printing out the PDI list. Take it with you when you pick your new trailer up, and check off each item. Then enjoy the RV life

Thanks! I'll check it out.

I found a checklist here for first time campers, and subsequently spent about a thousand dollars today.

Congrats, and yes the initial cost of owning an RV can escalate quickly. I never realized how many little things we would need to get started camping. Its like furnishing another home. We purchased our first RV in July and have had nothing but great times in it.

I found this forum after we purchased our unit, but we had a great experience with our dealer and the walk through that they did was great. Having the PDI list in hand though will help. Good luck, and enjoy the good life.....

I had a major issue (I think) with picking up the trailer. I posted about it here:
