Looking at buying a 2005 278rr

Wondering if anybody has suggestions of things to look at on a 2005 278rr during my inspection? Is there anything they're known for in terms of problem areas?

Thanks,

Chris

Well, that's an almost 16 year old trailer at this point, so with that age of a trailer, the issues probably wouldn't be so much as design defects as they would be maintenance issues. Obviously #1 thing would be the roof. Check it out. Has it been sealed? Has it been taken care of? Otherwise the typical PDI stuff should cover it. On a trailer of that age, literally EVERYTHING could be a problem area, depending on how it was cared for. Ha. Good luck on your inspection!

Welcome to the forum

As said, I would look at everything. If it’s at a dealership make them show you everything is functional before signing. If it’s a private party then I would tell the seller basically the same thing. No sale until everything was demonstrated as working.

Thank for the replies. It's a private sale and I will conduct my due diligence to the best of my ability. I feel pretty competent in my ability to evaluate and repair systems (commercial fisherman by trade - my boat is just basically a floating RV). Was just curious if this particular model was known to have any recurring issues due to the design or construction. Frame welds cracking in a certain spot, hidden water intrusion that shows consistently in certain areas, poor wire runs that lead to a lot of chafing, etc.

Thanks-
